Which 480 8GB

for 1080p probably not but i think if it was me then i would go with the 8gb rather than regret it later if games need more than 4gb

Devil card from Powercolor gets my vote due to its cooling, then XFX GTR and Sapphire Nitro tie for second place.

what Gibbo said. Devil is fantastic card for its money, factory overclock and cooling solution.

If I was in the market then I would get XFX GTR but those other two are right up there with it and I dont think you will go far wrong with them. Three great cards IMHO.

had the Gigabyte G1, ram , vrm and chip all under the main heatsink. found it to be quieter then what a lot of people were saying. should have been a triple fan version to allow more heat to be dissipated.
Used the Strix version as well, was surprised by this being loud and a hot card :(
yet to try the devil, cant find pictures of the heatsink taken off to see if it actively cools all 3 components, but you can't argue with its pricing

i can vouch for the xfx gtr black its been a solid little card since i got it runs at 66/67 degrees under full load with fans at 50% (custom curve), only gripe is no rgb led...white only not the end of the world though. as for the 4gb vs the 8gb i would rather have the extra and not need it than need it and not have it. this is only a stop gap for me till amd brings out the big brother/s.

If I could get an MSI Radeon RX 480 Armor OC 8GB new for less than £200 then I would get an MSI Radeon RX 480 Armor OC 8GB.

Devil card is better than Gaming X, let alone the Armor entry level junk. I like the MSI Gaming X stuff, but the Armor cards would never find a place in my own PC unless they were insanely cheap and when you can buy a Devil for £220 I'd take that everytime. :)

4GB is a false economy, particularly if you're keeping the card for a couple of years and then selling it on. The Devil at £219 is much cheaper than the other top notch 480s mentioned above, it looks like a no-brainer to me.

Any reason why the GTR for example is £35 more than the Powercolor Devil?
