Right being mulling over getting a new gfx card for a while and was going to go for a 4870, but decided to go for a 4850 as budget and the fact i'm not playing on pc that often, but want something new and fairly decent for newer games has lead me to the 4850.

Now the question is which one, do i go for the Powercolor 4850 PCS Extreme 1024MB or the HIS 4850 IceQ 4 Turbo 512MB? The Powercolor is cheaper and has an extra 512mb, but the HIS cooler looks to be a lot better. Make me a decision please guys.

I'd take the HIS IceQ, the dual slot cooler will really help to keep case temps down. Think the card comes slightly overclocked 'out of the box' aswell.

I was in the same position and went for the Powercolor PCS 1024MB. I can imagine that it is slightly noisier on load than the HIS, but I am idling at 48deg at the moment and the idle noise is fine for me (which is more important when I'm not gaming).

Tough choice, having the extra 512mb is useful for larger textures, AA etc but looking at reviews it makes little difference. Whether that changes with future games remains to be seen, i would be gaming at 1680x1050 so take it the HIS 512mb would be the better purchase with the better cooler?
