Which 4GB kit

I would like to boost my RAM a bit, as most desktop boards only have two pairs of slots these days so I want to make the most of the space and be able to re use as much of the RAM as possible on my next board.

The best way is would be to buy a 4GB kit.

Thing is I have a pair of Corsair 1GB XMS DDR2 6400 Dimms in at the moment, the equivalent 4GB kit from Corsair is nearly £200 which is a tad pricey.

Comparatively there are these:

Which are only are less than £100.

If I picked a pair of either of these would they be OK in there with the Corsairs or would they be a bit fussy.

My Motherboard doesn't give me much in the way of overclocking options for RAM with just 1.8V or Auto being the options.

What do you guys think,

I am will mostly use it for virtualisation and will happily send off for the 64bit version of windows.

Which motherboard, CPU and what speed is the CPU runing at?

Tbh you may well hit upon problems mixing the memory, especially if the board can't supply the 2.1v needed for the OCZ you linked to (I've no idea of which voltage is needed for the OcUK memory you linked to. The specced 1.8V-2.1V isnt exactly helpful).

The motherboard is Asus M2NPV-VM Micro ATX the cpu is X2 3800 using the automatic OC in the bios I have it clocked to a "massive" 2002mhz, I original bought it for the hipermedia case so have a low propfile cooler hence the limited overclock although it is now in a ATX tower case.

OK, thanks for your help

I think its not going to be worth it, I was trying to save money longer term, but pc5400 isn't really the answer to that.

I guess if I just have another Corsairs XMS2 2x1GB kit it will do for now, at the current price there is reason to be to worried.

On the other hand ASUS don't seem to be in a rush to release Phenom support for this board and I wanted to go quad core soon too. With the limited upgradability it maybe time to start from scratch with a new motherboard, then I can have the choice of more RAM, not to mention the choice of intel or AMD on the CPU side.
