Guys am not norma the kind of person that normally buys Blu-ray movies but I want to buy a few 4k HDR discs to see what they look like on my new 4K TV ;)

I was thinking of buying these 2 4K discs
Blade Runner 2049
Wonder Woman

But I have no idea which films look best so I was hoping you guys could recommend some

The first ones I was thinking of buying was the Nolan 4K Collection but on AVforums people were going on about some of the batman films had crush blacks and didn't look very good..:(

Discs that have made me go wow are

Blue Planet 2
Dunkirk
Superman Man of Steel
John Wick
Deadpool

I don't really have many to compare as many of my 4k films are digital rather than physical discs.

Of course it's all subjective, what one person finds amazing to look at another will disagree.
I also find sound makes a big difference to my viewing pleasure to a film, Dunkirk was one example of this. The positional sound though the surround speakers is one of the best I've experienced.

I keep looking at the planet earth 2 & blue planet 2 two pack for £49 knowing the picture going be truly amazing but I don't think it the kind stuff I would enjoy watching..:(

Life of Pi is fantastic in UHD as well as Pacific Rim for the HDR.
I heard somewhere before that the Life of Pi picture was fantastic

It really is, it's why electronic stores used to use it to display their UHD TV on display. :)

Always one of the better looking discs out there... maybe slightly overblown in the HDR stakes (released when 4k was very new) - Ive just never thought the film itself was very good at all (im now approaching the 100 mark in 4k discs)

Nolan Batman trilogy (liked what he did with Dunkirk in regards to making it but again didn't really like it as a film)
John Wick (double pack)
Predator has never looked better as well

 WOW
How long have you been buying 4K discs for ?

I don't think my local HMV store even has 100 different 4k discs in stock :D
The space where they have there selection of 4k Blu-ray movies is tiny...:( guessing there not a big seller

I ended up buying Blade Runner 2049, Wonder Woman, Die Hard 1
They didn't have Life of PI or superman (1978 version) instock

I almost bought the Predator Trilogy pack (I just seen amazon have this for £5 cheaper then my local HMV store)

I most likely buy a couple more next week ;):D

The same as HMV you get 2 for £30

I paid £9.99 for the 4k Die hard from HMV due to the HMV member discount card

I reckon pacific rim uprising might be good for the hdr aspect (I suspect the plot is poor).
I heard a few times about the 4k pacific rim movies are meant to look stunning..

Think my next one going be the 4k Planet Earth 2 & 4k Blue Planet 2 pack
I don't know if am going enjoy that kind of thing but I keep picking it up every time I look at 4k films

If I recall correctly I think I bought my first three (including The Shallows - which also imo looks great) last Dec
Don't rely on high street shops, even big HMV's aren't that great - unless you don't mind waiting.

Ive imported a huge amount, but also bought quite a few online - even from HMV themselves , and got them before the shop had stock
Stopped importing now as the tax situation has changed so its now just as expensive to import as it is to buy from the UK - and sometimes more so. Nice to have the option though on discs not released here.

Planet Earth /Blue Earth always look fantastic - even back in the day when BR was new the "Earth" series were the class of the field for pic quality especially.

Ive bought PE 2 - and haven't got through the 1st disc yet even though it looks amazing - will try and make a point of it when my OLED turns up this week.

don't forget to look in the classifieds on AFV for some bargains or pop in your local CEX since they charge 1.50 per item if you buy online.

Lucy is a good looking film in UHD. Marmite film though.
The Martian extended ed.
Lone Soldier has some cracking HDR.
