Which 4x4gb kit?

Hey, I'm running out of memory with photoshop files etc.. So i want to upgrade from 8gb to 16gb.

I don't mind spending a bit more if its going have visible results, I was looking at;

(I'd have to take the top of the heatsinks off these to fit under my cooler, would that be a problem?)

What sort of system are you running?

You could probably spend around half that much on 16GB of 1600MHz RAM and not notice the difference.

Two of these for example:

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £31.99

Or one of these:

Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit £66.95 until Wednesday morning.

They're already low profile so no messing about.

Will more expensive ram not perform better?

Edit- I have a 1055t currently at 2.8, will oc when I get some free time

I think AMD systems prefer lower latencies so I'd go for the Kingston kit for a couple of quid more.

You'd likely see a small performance increase from 1866MHz RAM (assuming it worked) but I doubt it's £60's worth.

1600MHz is only achieved on your motherboard with overclocking so you'll have to do that anyway to get the full speed.

It doesn't actually say it supports 1866MHz.
