Which 790i??

hi guys, just flogged all mu old 32bit components, and looking to upgrade my 680i to a 790i and try out some of this fancy DDR3 stuff

Which is the better board, the eVGA or the XFX??

I am looking to stuff my two 8800GTXs in there with an e8500 and 4Gb.

They're both the same, though i'd go with evga over xfx as the support's better.

I can recommend to you the Asus Striker II Extreme. I love mine.

i recomend the evga. Warrenty and returns are far better than asus. Im still waiting on rma from asus. gona be another 3 weeks yet to.

Word on the ocuk street is that they are rubbish support wise. (Currently why ocuk doesn't stock many of their product lines, though I could be wrong)

evga's support is excellent, the best I've used. I returned 3 680i boards to them and received replacements within 9 days, that's very good. XFX have a really annoying web based system, take days to answer and the help was absolutely awful.

I'd also recommend the evga over the Striker, mainly because they're faster at bios updates and are easier for the novice user to get a very good result, especially with the latest P04 release. The Striker's an awesome board but can be frustrating for those not willing or capable of getting the best out of them, not for the noob really.
