Im pretty much settled on everything except a gpu at this point , i was thinking about getting the Gigabyte 7970 but seeing that its voltage locked im considering a card such as http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-155-MS&tool=3. I currently only have around a £315-320 budget for a GPU. Unless i drop my plan to buy a 120gb SSD then i would have around £380.

I have a OCZ ZS Series 650w PSU and im wondering would it be good enough to even overclock the 7970 , if not i may aswell go for the voltage locked

Get the 7950 IceQ on offer and get 2x120GB SSD's(1 for OS and the other for Games) or a 256GB SSD if you already have an ssd.

You won't notice the difference in game@1080p. ;)
 
over the reference 7970 cards yer ? also i dont think i have much use for anything more than a 120gb since i only play around 2 games :p already have a 1tb storage drive
 
Yes, rather than a 7970, I have the OC you linked and also have a 7950 DD.

I also used the IceQ 7950 and there is nothing in it that you would notice in game@1080p when both are overclocked.
 
Hmmm...I wouldn't have thought so. I'd still say it's worth it; you'll be able to crank up the AA and if and when you upgrade your monitor, it'll still cut the mustard. However, I will say this : if you intend on keeping your monitor for a long time, there are cheaper cards that will still provide high performance, such as the 7850, 660 or 7870. Just something to be aware of. :)

if i where to buy a 1920x1080 monitor , is there one you would recommend ? and also a question , is it really worth to buy an SSD considering i run my computer 24/7 near enough boot times arent important etc. If i did ditch the SSD and go with a 7950 i could probably afford a 1920x1080 monitor

(i probably sound like a tight arse its just im on a tight budget this year)
 
If you're happy with the response of your current drive, I'd probably purchase an SSD next time around. Maybe Christmas? I will say that once you've gone to an SSD, you probably won't go back; they make day to day running of your operating system lightning fast, but having said all that, your priorities are clearly a gpu and possibly a monitor.

I'm probably not the best person to ask about a monitor, but I'll have a stab at suggesting one. That leaves about £150 for the monitor, correct?

Yer i currently have the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200 RPM , ive never had any problems with it and the speed etc except recently abit of sound coming from it but i think thats vibration from case since it only happend since i switch it to lower hdd bay :). And yep :( ive never really had a top end GPU ive always went for the lower ones for example when the 590 was out i went for the 560ti 448 core.

But saying that ive never had a SSD and i see a lot of mixed Opinions about them like some people say its the biggest performance upgrade for the least about of money but others say only get one if you have enough budget left at the end , like at the moment im reducing my GPU to buy an SSD.

I think i would go for the Samsung just because it has some nice reviews but both are on budget :) thanks mate
