Which 7970?

Can't decide whether to get HIS HD 7970 ghz edition or Asus Matrix HD 7970 platinum? Both same price at the moment.

Anyone have experience of both?

Leaning towards ASUS as Mobo I am getting is Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Also I presume the ASUS card is smaller than the HIS? So will help with space in my case.

Well, I've only had my matrix for about a day, so I can't say too much about it yet. What I can say with confidence, is that it's the biggest video card I've ever purchased (11.4" long / 3 slot cooler / had to remove the window gpu fan shroud - and my case is not small : HAFX), so bear that in mind if you decide to pull the trigger. As much as I'm glad that I bought it (great so far), I think what made me go for it was the price over anything else. Now, I'm not a hardcore overclocker, and due to the price moving up back up a fair bit, I think if I was buying a 7970 now I'd consider the Gigabyte card (even though it's voltage locked). The other ones that would tempt me are the Asus DirectCU and the Sapphire OC. The DirectCU would probably be my first choice, with the Gigabyte coming a fairly close second. Then there's the 280X range to consider.
