Which 4 port USB Hub is best to buy please?

hey,

i have 3 eternal hard drives, webcam, mouse, memory stick and a joypad that i would like to go through a 10 port usb hub if possible.

Tried the 10 port cheap ones on ebay and they was awful and full of cut-outs and problems.

al so had some items coming from pc on usb extension leads but worked for a while and then just stop and say malfunctioned.

so would be very grateful for some advice

thanks

IMO trying to connect so many devices through a single USB port is just asking for trouble. Does the PC only have one USB port available?

PC USB ports allowing, you'd be better off with a couple of smaller hubs connected to different PC ports. Even then you need to check that PC USB ports are actually separate. Look in device manager with the 'View' set to 'Devices by connection' to see what's actually going on.

One port will struggle - you'd need a powered one at the very least. Try Googling 'Trust 10 Port Usb 2.0 Power Hub' although I'd prefer the solution above and spread the devices over more than one port.

Anker USB 3.0 Hub so best connected so a USB 3 port.

I used a few a while back with my usb miners and it's a great hub.

thanks and yeah spread out does sound better, i do like the reviews on the anker one you mention, they make a 4 port one but dont think they have that charging port which sounds cool because i have a lot of issues with charging things sometimes certain ports dont charge or leads etc.

but x2 4 port reliable hubs would be great if i can find decent ones

Also after a 4 port powered hub.
The ones out are r either expensive or bad reviews or the cable is not enough. (need 100cm at least)

Cable extension for 4 usb plugs on the back of my computer? and tape them to me desk somewhere? I don't have enough usb plugs left.

I assumed you meant the length of the USB cable is the issue? I meant get a powered hub and extend the single USB cable from the hub to your PC if necessary with an extension, if it doesn't meet your 1m requirement
