Hi I in the process of a new build and have decided to stick in a 8800 GTX GPU thought about the ultras but was told there just a waste , my question is there are so many different GTX cards out there my different company's BFG,EVGA,asus to name a few so can anyone give me an idea which is the best or is it just a case of there all the same but some have pretty pictures on and some don't.

BFG would get my vote. If only because of the warranty. This is what I'm thinking of. Though going to wait to see what Bioshock looks like on my current card before making a decision.

Yeah must admit ive heard a few good things about BFG and the pic on the card is an eye catcher but is it worth getting the OC2 version.

Yeah thats what I thought but how would that affect there warrenty also does anyone know if the warrenty is affected if you remove the fan and fit a danger den waterblock as I may watercool my system if I decide to cahnge my case.

Yes voided if you do that, only EVGA let you do that, they give a 10 Year Warrenty and Step Up Process (allows you to get better card if out within 90days of this purchase, you pay the difference).

Their step up program is absolute crap though as they go on the price difference between what you paid for your card and what their suggested price is on the new card. Doesn't sound too bad except that their suggested prices are very inflated.
For example, I wanted to upgrade from an 8800GTX to an 8800GTX AC3 (my 8800GTX was running really hot) and they wanted to charge me £110 plus shipping. That's almost 3x the price difference of the two cards on OCUK. Needless to say I just bought a 3rd party cooler as it doesn't void their warranty.

sounds about right nothing comes for free these days ok so I guess my next question is how hard is it to remove the fan on the BFG cards as if it is easy then BFG never need to know I water went anywhere near it.

Never said it was good, some say it is and have used it some others say its bad, that was not my primary concern, he wanted to know if BFG would honour warrenty after cards stock cooling removed, answer is NO if they can tell, EVGA will honour it.

10 years warrenty over lifetime (not same in USA as EU its not as simple as that) are near same IMO.

10 year warrenty might aswell be liftime the GPU will be obsolete in a year if not sooner so who cares thanks for that I didnt realise it was 10 years guess I should read discriptions better .

get the cheapest one, most come with 2 or 3 year warranty now and thats plenty. also you want the warranty to be with the retailer and to the manufacturer. if its with the manufactuer things can get long in a returs process, with the retailer you send a dodgey card to they then ship a new one out to you.

as for cooling, just change the stock cooler, no one will know if you keep your gob shut :p and not go around on the net posting pics of the modded card.

im riding the bioshock buzz so i is more hyper then normal today.

what me say is buy the card and ease up on the questions, be more impulsive.

play jenga with your pc now and then, easy to do, go into windows system folder and start deleting files at randon, then reboot pc, if it fails to boot then its a JENGA!!!!!!!!!
