hi there

I'm going to buy a 8800 GT, but dont know which one to get: would I be correct in saying that the leadtek is a good choice because of better cooling? Also looking at the gainward as I presently have a gainward card.

Also does anyone have the ocuk geforce 1gb ? Is having 1gb on card ram signficantly better and worth the extra money?

1GB has shown no read advantage to the 512MB versions from those who have it. And for the money a 1GB costs, your better off getting a GTS.

As for the GT, shop around for the cheapest 512MB you can find with a decent warranty. All the cards are much of a likeness. Unless your going to try to overclock to the extreme then you dont really need to worry about the cooler (definately dont pay a premium for one). I got the BFG OC as it has the 10 year warranty, and even with the older smaller fan, I have it at 702/999 (i.e. speed of fasted stock oc'ed ones available for £20 more) and with some decent RivaTuner fan profiling, idle at 50 and load up to 70.

Simple answer - Cheapest GT with a warranty your happy with!

Gonna order the gainward, ive got a gainward agp at the mo and like it very much, same ocuk price as ocuk 8800 gt so will let you know what I think when I get it :)
