Hi guys I have been wanting to upgrade my card for a long time
At the moment I have a 670 gigabyte and I would like to get a 970.
I have had in mind the msi 970 which looks like a beast but a couple of days ago I saw the GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent Infinity Black Edition and that looks awesome as well.

On Kitguru they have listed both at 9 1/2 stars out of 10 so I'm not quite too sure on which one to get. I would like to buy by this morning if possible.

Any reasons why I shouldn't go for the GALAX GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent Infinity Black Edition?

There's really no reason not to go for the Galax Infinity... I have one and it's really well built; mine runs at 1367Mhz boost clock by default. Max temp 61 degrees, max fan speed 73% (after a few benchmarks). Haven't tried any overclocking yet so I can't say anything about that.

I dont really overclock my cards so one thats really good out of the box and straight into playing games would be really ideal.

That Galax Infinity looks beast and Kitguru said the only cons was that this mark isn't as well known as MSI, ASUS so if thats the only default I really don't see any cons about this at all.

Well for the first time in our sales data we have a new no.1 seller, it was previously the MSI, but now the Galax Infinity is outselling it 2:1 with nearly 50 cards per day being sold at present in UK alone. :D

Very proud! My German and Hungarian colleagues are also selling over 25 per day as well. :)

Looking to get one myself, so...

Galax Infinity Black or Gigabyte G1? Both the same price this week, the Gigabyte appears to have the slight edge with more outputs and an extra year's warranty. Is the Galax noticably quieter and cooler?

It is a little quieter and less chance of coilwhine and in my opinion is a better looking card with its all stealth black design, nothing was overlooked, even the I/O plate is nickel plated too. :)

Having the basic Galax EX OC ( blue PCB ) in SLI , was gutterd to see the infinity pop up ...

Wouldn't touch the MSI over this ,

Metal back plate , overclocks like a beast ( had my better card upto 1570mhz ) , nice PCB and color design . ^ Nikel plated . Ahhh I'm gutterd haha

If quality of graphics cards were judged how quality of PSU's used to be judged and the better quality being the heavier the unit then the Galax would win hands down. Such chunky solid cars with their all metal construction. :)

No plastic tacky coolers here! ;)

I went for the MSI and very happy with it, if the Galax was available at the time I would have gone for that.

The MSI in my view is the only card which has pulled of a plastic cooler in style as it looks good and functions well, its biggest downfall is the lack of a backplate, but otherwise a good card.

Recently got a galax 970 black exoc, no coil whine that I can hear, goes like the clappers and overclocks real nice. well happy here.

Only thing wrong with the Galax is the 2 year warranty! It looks so nice and i was gonna get one due to coilwhine problems but have stuck with the G1 as its settled down a bit although still has coilwhine, could be PSU related though...

Ive had 3 cards died after 2 years and thats what put me off the Galax, all 3 of them cards when RMAed netted me a brand new upgrade! Just cant risk 1 year less warranty on a £300 card!!
