I am looking at getting a 970 however there are a number of models and prices seem to go from £250 upwards.

I game at 1440p and the demanding game I play at the moment is probably is the Draenor expansion for WoW, I do play FPS but rarely online.

Also not over fussed at overclocking but want to get a decent card, I have the Corsair 240 case so space is at a premium.

I was looking at the OCUK reference card as partly like the design of the card that it vents air out the back but its £320 whereas you can get a Galax for £250ish

Giving what I am looking for is there a reason to spend £70 more on a card than the £250 Galax one?

Will have a look at the Gigabyte card, will need to find out if they do RMA's in the UK.

Why do you say the ocuk one for SLI? Is it simply its a reference design?

Gigabyte have a UK RMA service, meant to put that as another plus point :)

Yes :)

If your case is smallish then bare in mind that the Gigabyte is 31cm long!
It was my first choice but wouldn't fit in my Antec case.
Got the MSI instead, very happy :)

OCUK 970GTX has arrived and now all happy in my case, much quieter than my R290

Ah no problem I'm still not sure which GTX 970 to get or if to stretch myself and get a 980. Hope you enjoy yours.

The OCUK fit the bill for me, mostly on size, its pretty hefty bit of kit weighs more than my r290.

More importantly whisper quiet, when gaming lsat night, had it up to 65-75oC and could not hear it over the general PC noise so very happy with that.

I was like you and considered the 980, but I did not feel the jump in price was worth if for the modest increase in performance sometimes only 10FPS at 1440p that I game at.
