Having a look at some 970's todays the day ive finally saved enough for the card to finish my build.... some say super clocked some don't.. am i right to assume super clocked is better??

the games i want to run are bf4, R6 the siege (when it comes out) CS:GO

can anyone help me make a more informed decision?

There is no best 970, look at the ones on offer and read some reviews.
That's it really, the 970 is very efficient and cool, it's hard to go wrong.

I had trouble with the 970 coil whine and went through a few different brands. In the end got the reference which was totally silent and certain worth the extra to me. As always YMMV

I have the Strix but I'd recommend the MSI Gaming. Don't go for any of the more expensive 970s, they're hardly worth it. The Strix is thought not to be a brilliant clocker but mine still does 1500+mhz on stock volts, so I reckon you shouldn't have many problems getting a decent overclock out of your card.

Ideally, I'd buy used as I think the 970 is generally not worth the money at this point in time. I'd go for a used one or a 290x.

If you're dead set on buying new, take a look at the 390 as well.
