Hi everyone,

I am looking to possibly upgrade soon, I currently have a Inno3D GTX 780Ti iChill DHS. I am looking to get a 980 really and 3 have caught my eye, can anyone advise? Is there really much performance difference between these cards and their clock/memory speeds? Or is there something else I should look at?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/LP/inno3d-780ti.php

I do like the Inno 3D ichill cards, this one has...
- Core Base Clock of 1266MHz
- Core Boost Clock: 1367MHz
- Memory Clock: 7200MHz

However I see the Zotac GeForce GTX 980 AMP Extreme Edition has...
Core Clock: 1291MHz
Boost Clock: 1393MHz
Memory: 4096MB 7200MHz

Or is it really worth the extra £100 for the KFA2 GeForce GTX 980 "Hall of Fame Edition" for example which has...
- Core Base Clock: 1304MHz
- Core Boost Clock: 1418MHz
- Memory Clock: 7010MHz

I realllllllllly wouldn't bother m8, it's almost a side-grade for you! The 780Ti tends to perform inbetween the 970 & 980. Wait for the 980Ti (or similar) to compete against the 390X when it's released June/July.

For such a short wait it'll be worth it :)

+1

or even wait for the new cards to come then SLI your 780Ti s if you have enough powa and SLI compatible mobo/space?

Your 780Ti has the full chip variant of Kepler with no holding back where the 980 is the smaller chip for Maxwell with 800+ less cuda cores, so you really would be so much better off waiting for the equivalent upgrade to your card, which would be the next high end 6GB card NVIDIA release (before or just after the 390X release).

My Inno3d is silent in my case and just does not get hot.
However Huge card at 300 mm and requires 3 slots. Saying that, could not be happier with it.

Yeah those DHS cards are so beastly and the cooling just looks incredible. Looking forward to seeing one on a GM200 GPU

Cheers for the replies...

Does anybody know when the 6gb range of nvidia cards are out? Ideally I would rather future proof and get a 6gb. I didn't even know the 980 TI's were coming out anytime soon!

A guess based on the Kepler range would be 3 months max. Titan came out in february then 3 months after in May came the GTX 780 with half the vram. That would make sense as the 390X should be coming in June and NVIDIA will surely release this card to compete with it by then.
