Which 980Ti to get... :| ?

I've had the MSI 6G for 6 months. A terrific card, and even at 90% fan it's unbelievably quiet. The only thing to watch is the card sits a little bit wider than others and that may be crucial (I can't put a water block on mine because of this).

Personally I wouldnt spend that kind of money on a GFX card right now, not with all the new stuff coming out in the next few months (Okay it may be the next 3- 6 months). I would wait and see what Nvidia and AMD have up their sleeves first.
:)

The 6mths or so before a new GPU launch really is a frustrating time...the only really sane reason to buy a new GPU during this time is if your current card goes belly up.

Hmm, interesting post - Im tempted to get one to get my games running at higher fps at 1440, but if theres going to be release in 4-6 months time - maybe ill wait?!

If you want the best air cooled card get the EVGA Classified,if it won't fit in your case the next best one is the EVGA FTW. Simple as that currently, unless you want water cooleed type AIO then the EVGA hybrid. But if I was going to water cool then I would get the Classified and a nice block, because the hybrid AIO is just a reference card.

I think it may be closer to 9 months before a replacement to the 980ti comes out.

A Pascal TI may well be closer to 12mths away, but the point is, the Pascal equivalent of a 970 should offer comparable performance to a 980Ti at less than £400.

My 970's are as fast as the old 780Ti's, I see no reason, especially with a new die shrink, why the same won't hold true this time.

I understand that, but the performance will be the same. So, it's spend the money to have it now out wait the best part of a year for something better, or wait 6 months to have the same performance you can have now.

The first Pascal releases will probably be upgrades to the 960 range which will be unlikely to outperform a 980ti.

If the OP was talking about buying a 970 right now then I would be inclined to say wait, but a 980ti must surely have 9 months to go without a rival?
