After a bit of research I'm hopelessly confused.
My current router is showing signs of irritability, dropping connections both on WiFi and to the Exchange. My line quality is average but I'm only 350m from the exchange. :D
I'm looking for an ADSL2+ modem Router. It must have at least 4-Gigabit switched ports (PC, NAS and Homeplugs take up 3 already) and be fast and reliable. on the WiFi we can have up to 5 phones, tablet, Media streamer and laptop.
Budget is approx £100, and should be easy enough to setup for a networking noob like myself.

Cheers

I got one of these recently to replace a basic netgear that Orange sent me.....

So Far it has worked flawlessly. PC, NAS box, Sky & PS3 connected wired. 2 laptops, 3 phones and 2 tablets connected wirelessly, as well as bedroom smart TV. Wireless is still strong on my garden patio, which is around 25m from the router.

It has USB ports and its own built in Media Server. (Not tested as I use the NAS)

More than enough options for configuration also.

:)

Quick update. Bought a Billion 7800n 2nd hand. Works fine so far, has a LOT of features that I need to get to grips with but Im getting 16Mbs down and 0.6mbs up, before any tweaking on ADSL2+.

Great router with stacks of features. Performance on my line is 1mb slower than an elderly DG834GT at exactly same SNR settings though (14.8>13.6), but everyone's line will perform differently and there isn't 1 router that is a guaranteed win for everyone

yep. I'm hoping that being so close to the exchange I can get pretty close to 20mbs with some tweaks. Is it worth upgrading the firmware to 1.06h ?
