I'm moving up to Socket AM2 and need to know which boards are good. I don't need SLi or anything fancy although I would like to try the newer Nforce chipsets. What do you think of the Abit KN9 Ultra? It's got everything I need but is it any good? Any others I should consider. I'm planning on buying in the next 24hrs ;) so please let me know if you have any thoughts.

cheers

I'm using the Biostar T-Force 570 Ultra, same chipset as you're considering, it seems the best non-sli choice. I'm very pleased with it, although I don't overclock. I did put on auto overclock just to test & it went from 2.2 to 2.5 ghz perfectly stable. I have heard there are some memory compatability issues with the A Bit board but aside from that, it looks to be one of the best choices.

the memory compatability is usually just a case of setting the higher required Vdimm rather than the JEDEC spec. 1.8V.

the basic KN9 using the nF4 Ultra chipset is a good board & should be evem cheaper.
