Hello all

I'm in the process of specing a new pc, It will be the first new build I've done in over 5 years!

I thought I was all set with the spec and Will be placing an order some time next week.

I've always liked gigabyte motherboards and this one seems to hit every thing I'm after.

I'm after a mother board with on board graphics as I wont be adding a GFX card for some time.

This is the board I chose

However I've heard good things about this motherboard as well, and to my limited knowledge is the same as the gigabyte board.

Which of these two boards would you say is the better choice?
which has better futureproofing and upgrading potential?

cheers

The Asus motherboard has an 8+2 phase VRM with cooling which the Gigabyte motherboard lacks. Hence the Asus motherboard would be better with higher TDP processors and overclocking.

Yes, if you plan to get a beefy CPU, then the Asus is definetly the board for you. There is more space between the RAM and CPU as well, so you can fit in a big cooler if you don't plan to use the stock.
