Hi,

Managed to get myself one of the NZXT H1 cases ordered and in need of a decent ITX motherboard for it.
Is the B550 boards worth waiting for or shall I just get one of the X570 boards?

Doesnt seem much choice in the X570 side but Im leaning towards the Gigabyte as the price and features suit my use (mix of gaming and general use), does the Asus earn its higher price tag?

Thanks for any help!

I’m due an upgrade and can hopefully hang on until zen 3. Don’t really see a reason to go X570.

saw a YouTube review of one of the basic gigabyte b550 ITX boards. It look pretty good.

however, IMO ASUS never earn their higher price tag. I would never recommend any of their PC gear.

never owned anything ASUS and never would. I do like to feel my components are providing value for money though.

Similar boat myself.
For ITX x570 seems to offer little benefit over B550 as not enough space for extra M.2's/PCI slots etc.
However as prices seem similar and no B550 ITX available may as well go x570.

Similar situation. I've got 2 AM4 ITX systems. The second isn't up and running yet as I need a board, but it's only for work and will have an Athlon 3000g in it.

I'm looking to replace my current Asrock B450 with B550 so that the B450 can be used in the second system. It makes more sense to do this as the cheapest B550 is £130 which is the same price as the available B450 boards. Plus with B550 I can make use of 2 M.2 slots.

At the moment the MSI board is the one I'm looking at. It's a bit more expensive than the gigabyte but has better sound output better fan connections. I'm waiting for some reviews on these boards but there's nothing about yet.

I just ordered the MSI B550 Gaming Edge board to go with my H1 as it seemed to meet my needs best in terms of features.

I ruled out the gigabyte & cheap asrock boards as both don't have the USB type c front panel header and i wanted to make use of that on the H1.
The Asus board was also ruled out because its the most expensive despite having worse VRM then its competitors. (Asus tax is real!)
That just left the Asrock Phantom Gaming & the MSI Gaming Edge which are both very similar. I chose MSI because it has bios flashback and they have a better reputation when it comes to bios features/updates. The asrock also has 90 degree sata ports and I'm not sure if that would be an issue in the H1 or not so the MSI seemed a safer bet.
