Which AMD card right now

Just got the MG278q 144hz 1440 display

I won't be moving to 4K now for some time, I just need a card to make the most out of my display I'd obviously like to spend as little as possible so will look at second hand cards

Iv looked at a few reviews and the lack of development of the 3xx series cards has put me off a bit.

I have a 650 gold supply
280xmsi
Corsair carbide ( the stupid looking case with red fans at the front)
I5 4670k not yet overclocked

I play any and all types of games at 1440 and as close to 144hz as possible as most people would

If you want to come close to 144fps on 1440p you need crossfire (or single Fury/Fury X for older games).

Fury Nano if the budget will take it otherwise a 2nd hand 290x

get a Fury nano / Fury for the time being, and go CF if needed
with freesync on it is still very smooth when it drops below 60fps

If you haven't got any card now go as cheap as possible and save up for an upgrade next gen.

I wouldn't go buying any Fury today. If I was going to buy a new 300 series it would be a 390 which I'd sell once I can go next gen.

but good airflow helps that card a lot so be sure you have good cooling in your case

Seems to clock to FX levels if you don't mind adjusting the fan speed to a more aggressive setting so that it doesn't throttle
