Dilema,,,do i buy a AMD 64 4000 SanDiego at £240 or do i go for a Dual core 4200?

Limited to around 250 quid you see.

go for the opteron 165 for £250 instead, double the cache an will overclock to fx 60 speeds

Depends how lucky you are - mine was prime & s&m stable @ 2.6 using the retail heatsink but it won't go much higher with water cooling, still testing but probably only another 100 MHz stable....
From all the posts I've seen 2.4 is probably guaranteed and 2.5 is likely

how about the opty 170? do you think that is more likley to go to 2.6?

i was going to go for a 4400 but if i can get an opty to fx speeds that would be sweet
