so i bought the Asus Z97-K Motherboard and me being stupid i didnt read up on which GPU it supports and i was originaly going for nivida but it says it only supports crossfire, so i guess im going to have to go for AMD now but the problem is i have never looked into AMD gpus and i have no idea which one to go for, i was wondering if someone could help me.

If you're thinking of eventually going crossfire, then yes, you will need to buy an AMD card. You can still purchase a single gpu nVidia card, though.

What is your cpu / resolution and psu spec? Also, what is your budget?

ah so i would be able to buy a nivida graphics card then?

and my cpu is the Intel Core i5 4670K
my resolution on my screen is 1152x864
my power supply is one that im taking out my old pc a 650W but it was gonna lead me to another question would it be able to run my pc plus the GTX 750ti?

also my budget on a gpu is under £200

It supports both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. However, if you want to go for two GPUs in the future, you will only be able to use two AMD graphics cards with that motherboard, but anyway I'd advise against going dual GPU on that board due to the fact that the PCI-E x4 slot will bottleneck the secondary GPU quite a lot

ah ok thanks for the advice.

would you not say that the GTX 750TI would be a good card until the new 800 series cards come out?

1152 x 864 res? Have you thought about upgrading the monitor? :)

If not, then you are not going to need anything more powerful than low end of mid range (if that) to power that res.

^Good point, even an R7 265 would do okay with that

£100 on a GPU, £100 on a new monitor? :D

i have been thinking about getting 2 monitors and the monitor i have works fine for me.

also would a 650W psu do.

Yeah, a 650w is ample - providing it's a decent branded / quality unit. Personally, I would get the monitor first, but it's your call.

In that case, a 750ti would be easily powerful enough for that res. Put the rest of the money aside for now.
