I think you'd have to take into account both what they eat and the "volume" of the breath, e.g. you couldn't smell a vole's breath but they eat worms.

Maybe whales?

I’d imagine it’d be some sort of carnivorous scavenger? Not that I’d be volunteering to sniff the breath of any to find out!
