Which anti-virus for...

Which anti-virus best suits me for

minimal system resource usage
scanning for viruses when selected by me
Toggle security on/off

Im not really bothered about scanning for malware and security while visiting webpages as i only want to scan files from cd's that friends might give me or files people may send me over msn

I asked because i couldnt find any on the front page that suited my requirements and i have been out the loop for abit

gaming doesnt require anti-virus hehe

Another one that uses zip all resources is Avira.

I think you'll find most votes go to either of these two

After switching to this from :mad:

Mcafee

I agree 100%. My pc is not the best around, and with :mad:

Mcafee

it went soooo slooooow. Now it's a lot faster

Although not free, I would recommend NOD32. Treated me well for years. Although I'm also confused to why you'd want to disable it...

Im currently running a full AV round up test and am shocked at some of the results ive found, sadly its taking its sweet time too run all these test and scans but ive purposly let Antivirus 2009 install on my pc and infect it too the next kingdom !

People will be shocked I think when I post up the Nod32 Screenshot

I dont know if anyone out there is interested... since I just started it off for myself too find out the best AV around but im gonna test Nod32/Kaspersky/Avira/Mcafee enterprise + 2008/Norton 360 + 2009 edition....ill happily post up my review ?

@OP - simple, DON'T disable it when running games. It has no impact, that's (one of the reasons) why it was recommended.
