Yes, soon after came Socket 940 and 754.

Im even tempted to go Intel - I need a cooler system - without adding more fans etc

Some do run cooler, but if building new then Intel and Core 2 Duo or Quad are the best options.

At stock speeds yes, they run quite cool and won't need much to do so.

I always thought he had something to do with cpuz as well, can't remember the exact point i stopped seeing wcpuid and started seeing cpuz being used. Also the site being called cpuid.com might have something to do with it. Guess i was wrong there, been under that impression for years too
