Hi all

After building my first PC this weekend, I now need a GFX card to finish !!

I have read several entries on this forum and I have reached a decison on going via ATI, but the crunch is which cards ???

I am looking at; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-089-HT

but I have also noted that 3870X2 may be arriving soon???

Do I purchase above card or wait for the X2?? I will be using CF in the future so buying another 3870 is in my thoughts.

Thanks for your help

Why have you decided ATI? I don't think you gain anything by decided ATI over nvidia or vise-versa. For example, at the £100 mark the 3850 is the best card you can get. At the price point you mentioned (link:£152) the 8800gt is the best card although you might have to add a few £ to it.

Maybe he's decided ATI because his motherboard supports Crossfire and perhaps he may wish to go for a second card in the future. I would recommend waiting it out until the 3870 x2 and then make a decision.

your dead right killersheep, you are reading my mind !!!!

Yeah that board supports Crossfire, but you may as well hang on till the 28th see what the 3870X2 is like, as it will be pointless buying 2x 3870's seperately when in a couple of weeks you can get exactly the same cards, but on the 1x board, will all depend on price i guess. :)

Is it for def to be released on 28th for the X2 ?? If so I will wait and see, and perhaps the 3870 may drop slightly in price and go for 2 of those. :p

Thanks for your help :D
