Which ATI drivers?

I'm using the ATI Catalyst 6.2 drivers at the moment and I'm thinking of upgrading them. I've used the Omega drivers before and liked them, but I'm not sure about any of the other modded drivers out there. Anyone got any recommendations as to which ones I should go with? I’ve got an X800XT PE by the way.

The Omega version do give you more options / tweaks, but I just use the latest ATI ones each month.

I'm on the Omegas here, just as good if not better than the ATI ones in terms of performance, usually slightly behind in fixes (ie an update from 6.1 to 6.2 etc)
also You don't the Catalyst Control Centre :)

Hmm, no real diference with the Omega 6.3s. 3DMark 03 and 05 and Counter-Strike Source al perform exactly as they did before. Oh well, at least I don't have to use that horrible Catalyst Control Centre anymore :)

Yeah yeah I know, ATI tray tools and all that... I've used it before and wasn't too mad about it. It's got a hell of a lot of options but I have no use for most of them, so I just prefer the standard ATI control panel. I use Radlinker as well for making games profiles, and I prefer this setup to the tray tools.

well lucky your using the omega's then

Eh? I'm using the Omega's since I thought they might give me better performance than the cats. They don't have any options for advanced tweaking themselves as far as I can see. There's an option to install ATI Tray tools with the drivers, but you don't have to. I just installed radlinker myself afterwards. If I need more control over my KTX buffer region and such I can install tray tools but I think I'm fine for the moment...

Damn it, these Omegas aren't working at all. All my source games run really slowly and crash constantly. Back to the catalysts for me... Although I really don't want to use the Control Centre. I'll probably just download the drivers and give ATI tray tools another chance :)
