Im wanting a bag to store my D40 Kit + 2 Lenses (70-200 + 50mm)

Not wanting something too big if possible.

Perhaps a messenger style bag if possible?

If not, something not too big.

Or space to store other things too.

No budget, but cheaper the better.

I currently use a Lowepro Slingshot 100AW. It's the right size for what you need, although with any more kit you'll be pressed for space. It's really handy to access the camera as you just spin it round to your front and unzip it.

I think they're about £50.

Seems perfect.

What sort of lenses do you store in yours?

& What camera?

At the minute it's a 400D with a kit lens and a 50mm f1.8. I also have a few filters, memory cards, lens hood etc. in it. There is a top compartment which is big enough to stick a compact camera or sandwiches or something into, as well as a front pocket.

I've a 70-200mm f4 arriving tomorrow and I'm not 100% sure if it will fit, but I'll let you know as soon as it arrives.

£25! That's a damn good price!

Yeah i was amazed, saw it on another website for £46 and then (suprised by this) a local camera shop had it for £25!

Yeah if you could let me know, as that will be the lens i would be carrying around the most.

How comfortable is the bag itself?

Will do.

It's very comfortable as it slings across your chest. The strap is well padded and even with all the kit, the bag doesn't feel as heavy as it should. As an example, I had it on me for about 6 hours one day and it wasn't a problem at all.

Sounds perfect.

Ill wait on the order, to see if your 70-200mm fits nicely.

I would most likely be carrying around the 70-200mm & lens hood & memory cards.

So hopefully it does fit nicely.

Looks perfect though, as i didnt want a full backpack style bag.

If you do want a messenger style bag then this wont be for you but I have a Lowepro Rezo 170AW which I like a lot.

I carry 400D + 24-105mm L + Sigma 70-300mm and use the extra space for hoods and filters although it could take a 3rd lens (and will soon enough :p )

It swallows stuff up and its suprisingly small on the outside.

Wouldnt blame you for going for the slingshot though ;) I have always found everything lowe pro to be of excellent quality.

Yeah, that looks a bit too big.

Maybe after a few additional lenses i will look into getting that.

But at the moment i only carry around 2-3 lenses max.

So the slingshot sounds perfect.

Okey Doke, im sure you wont be disapointed either way!

ive got a slingshot 100, takes the D80 with 18-70 no problem and ive got a 70-300 tucked away in there as well. room for a 50mm or flashgun in the main compartment as well.
Handy rain cover built into the bottom of it as well.

Oh thats good news then.

So the Slingshot should fit my D40 Kid + 50mm + 70-200mm easily? And possibly a lens hood?

had enough juice left in my old S5000 to get 1 piccie with the flash!

I bought a tamrac 5674 about a week ago and highly regret it, my camera just about fits in, no space for extra lens, and the d40 isn't exactly a..........large camera  :p

Looks like i paid too much aswell :o
