I need a charger for our scooters. It needs to be able to charge up to max then trickle charge. Both of our scooters are currently dead as a doornail and I can't charge them at home, and riding them to charge the battery takes bloody ages, so I need something I can connect at work, leave it for the day and come back to a full or partially charged battery which I can charge again the next day.

Any recommendations please chaps?

Cheers :D

Assuming your scooters have 12V batteries Optimate have always been my go to for motorbike chargers. There are a few different models but most will automatically switch to trickle charge.

They also come with quick connect leads so you don't have to go under the seat every time. You can buy extra connection leads so you can easily swap between different bikes. I use mine between 3 different bikes.

Cheers, I wanted either an Optimate or a Ctek but our local Halfords had neither so I just grabbed one of these:

My battery was at 0% and 7.4v so hopefully this charger's "recovery" mode will be able to get some life back in it!

I have the Optimate 1 duo for my Lambretta, you can leave the terminal leads connected to the battery (if you have room in the battery compartment) then just hook up and go.

Gel batteries are a waste of space.
Get an AGM and use an optimate as already suggested.
I did this and don’t really need the optimate as the AGM holds it’s charge so well.
