Which BF2 mod?

I was thinking of installing BF2 again and giving a bash. However the one and only thing that annoyed the carp out of me with this game was the dolphin diving.

I have noticed however that there are a load of mods out there now which I have read improve the game no end. Could some one give me advise on which one is most played and so which one I should install.

When did you last play BF2, what patch ?
People go prone these days but you can't Dolphin dive.

I should say i've tried all the mods but nothing beats Vanilla.
 
I guarantee 99% of the people here will recommend Project Reality, and with good reason. It is a well executed team play based game, brilliant mod.

Vanilla isn't as bad as it was for things like dolphin diving though.
 
It must have been about a year and a bit since I played, It is fantastic news to hear that they have made dolphin diving impossible.

Am gonna install now and also download the project reality mod.

Also, what about the expansions and small packs EA released - should I get any of them?

Special Forces = Good
Euro Forces = Dead
Armoured Fury = Short time good then Dead

That is the boringest mod ive ever played, it takes out the good things in BF2, like the fast pace, getting killed every couple of seconds by a spawn camper, respawning and c4ing him from behind, then getting killed by a sniper, then spawning as sniper and sniping him.

NOTHING beats vanilla
 
The Project Reality mod improves on vanilla BF2 massively. I hadn't touched BF2 for ages before I tried the mod and now I play it all the time. The community and servers are far far better. It really needs teamplay to progress on the maps and that's what I like about it.
 
gunna look into getting Reallity Mod, i saw it posted a while back but i had a rub pc back then and didnt have BF installed at the time
 
Stick with it when you first start playing. It's a "one shot kill" mod so running around like a nutter will end in death quite quickly. Always join a squad (most servers now kick if you are not in a squad), then you have access to the kits. As squad leader getting the officer kit is a must as you can then set a rally point (spawn point) which is dead handy. Also you'll need a crewman kit for driving APC's and Tanks etc. and a pilot kit for helicopters and planes. It all makes for some great team based action :)
 
As Ronjin says you have to join squads. And use of a mic and VIP is very important. You have to be much more cautious than vanilla
