Ive been using a cheap £9.99 thing from Argos for last few months, i think i may have bought it for my mum for xmas or something a few years ago

anyway i need something more stronger and better, that can handle more foods at it, and wont screach to a hault cos it cant handle it

also preferrably be able to ground seeds

anyone have any personal recommendations? max £50 if possible

I got one that was reduced from £60 to £35 in our local Sainsbury's (not a generic one, one of the massive ones, is it Savacentre?)

It is a blender, a smoothie maker and a few other things I haven't tried. Can't remember what make it is :( but I suggest going to one of the big superstores.

If it helps, my mate has had 3 from Argos and they've all gone back because they weren't up to it :)

Was thinking of getting one of these this monday

Would that be any good for making smooties ? also what exactly does a smooties consist of all together besides just the fruit ?

For a smoothie you really want a KitchenAid or a L'Equip blender so you can put ice in it without it wrecking it. That should be fine for smoothies without ice though. :)

It shows fruit + ice in it and says it has ice crushing setting.

This is all new to me i've always woundered what it would be like to be able to make smoothies as the darn heat is coming and i need something nice to cool me down :D

So smoothies is just fruit and ice ?

Ah I see, even so for £15 I remain opposed to if it can withstand a crapload of ice on its blade, crush setting may be different. Had one at work that claimed it could do ice and it buckled in a week.

Smoothies are usually ice, milk and yoghurt or icecream then fruit. :)

I put milk or yoghurt in mine :)

I thought maybe that would be classed a milk shake then.

Its all so confusing lol

The kinda of fruits i would be using is strawberrys / bannana's and will have to experiment with others in time.

I dont have time now as im just about to switch off to go watch Ultimate Fighter on Bravo :D .

Thanks in advance if anyone does post any good sites ;)

Anyone else find that they have ended up using their blenders/smoothly makers for making quick soups rather then smoothes?

Its just so damn quick and easy….

Still trying to find some decent ramen noodles though :(
