Hi all I was wondering if you could spec me a Board/CPU/Memory for a friend of mine, he has £180 to spend and he mainly uses he's PC for downloading & watching TV shows, Web Browsing, Music just general stuff like that.

He's been looking at a B Grade Intel Core i3 Asus 8GB Gaming Bundle which is Asus P8H61-MX R2.0, Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) Dual Channel Kit Ballistix Elite RAM & Intel Core i3 2100 which costs £129.99.

What you guys think ?

Does he have a GPU atall?

If he doesn't it may be better looking at the trinity APU range..

Those chips have really good on-board graphics which help with HD playback. :)

This would do the job. £164 with free shipping.

You could drop the CPU down to dual core to save a bit - £140 here:

It's more than the i3 2100 b grade bundle, but the GPU is more up to the job for video playback. I can't see the bundle on here, but that plus a cheap GPU would be a good option too.

Cheers guys that gives me something to think about, he has case, HDD's and ATi radion.... Which board is better out of the above two listed

A75 and A85x are both very decent modern boards, the latter is a little better but for a basic PC it's not important. You get more USB 3 ports, etc. I tend to favour Gigabyte for AMD builds, as well as the UK RMA.
