Hi

Another "Spec me..." thread. ;)

It's about time that i upgrade from my BTX mobo that came with the XPS i bought () about a year ago.
It has a dell BIOS so i can't overclock the CPU or RAM...grrrr.

Would like one with as many of these as possible:
- Socket 775 (Important for my Q6600 i have at the moment)
- ATX
- 4x RAM slots (PC6400+)
- Wouldn't mind 2x PCIe slots but not important.
- Sub £75ish (if possible, less i spend, more i can set aside for GPU and case)
am i missing any obvious requirements you need to spec me.... ? ;)

Sorrrrrry,
and thanks

Jack :D

I would recommend this board, its a great overclocker and doesn't break the bank.

Just make sure your dell can fit a full size ATX board, I know some of those dells are laid out very strangely.

Cheers mate. :D

Nah, i know the Dell wont fit it, it's a BTX case.

Will be looking for a new case too.

Sick of being restricted bt a BTX case.

Edit:
What is the biggest difference between the board you linked and this one: Clicky

The board cmndr andi linked to is a p45 chipset and the one youve linked is an x48 chipset board, p45 features the newer ich10r chipset as opposed to ich9r on x48 boards, however x48 offers the ability to run dual ati graphics cards at x16 per lane whereas on p45 it drops to x8 per pcie slot with dual ati cards, id avoid x48 if your not gonna be going crossfire, p45 boards tend to overclock better as well, i had some great results with an asus p5q deluxe and quads.

OK thanks for clearing that up.

I should probably have noticed the DDR3 part on the description :p

So the Asus P5Q Pro Turbo Intel P45 it is then.

Thanks for the swift help!
