I have 3 boards that will soon be coming in to my possession and will be choosing one for my next build they are

Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
Gigabyte z77x-ud3h
Asus P8z77-v pro

Which one would you go for, it will most probably be partnered with a 3570k and a 7950.

I'm leaning towards the gigabyte purely as my last 3 have been gigabyte and I think they are excellent solid boards.

I would probably pick the Asus board, They are doing pretty well for themselves and I have had great experience in the past with their boards!

saying that, After a bit of shuffling my main board is gigabyte. If your wanting solid performance and piece of mind in the RMA and support area, go for them!

After giving them a quick look down I would probably go for the Gigabyte board :)

Although I really like ASUS boards, I recently went Gigabyte on my build purely for the speed of resolving any warranty issues.

Well I have received all three boards and after having a play with them all.

I'm liking both the Asrock and the gigabyte, both have buttons on the board for firing up with out a case, where as the Asus does not, its little things like that which set them apart for me. Quite liking the layout of the asrock and the colours. The only thing worrying me about the asrock is that the pcb seems to be very thin and flex's quite a bit compared to the gigabyte.

Any one have the Asrock extreme 4 with a big cooler on it can tell me how it copes as just picking it up it flex's alarmingly?

I would keep the Gigabyte, as you mention its built better than the Asrock, the warranty is longer and also based in the UK.

Just an update in case any one was interested, i have decided to keep the Asrock board in the end after playing with it and the gigabyte for the last week. I really liked the Asrock features and although the PCB is thinner it is still a solid board and I liked the features and found my self really liking the look of it over the gigabyte.

As I am now using a H60 I don't have to worry about board flex with a massive cooler.

Got the asus v pro here, a very well built board, (im using a pretty heavy k2 cooler). Build quality wise, gigabyte and asus are equal. (i prefer asus due to bios layout) gigabyte do have better uk based support though. Something that asus really need to look into.

asrock arnt bad,ive dealt with them, better than asus for customer support imo, they are based in the Netherlands for uk rma

The netherlands seems to be a popular spot for a few companies. Corsair use holland, as does ocz. Suppose it's fairly central in western europe. I had the misfortune of using evga, (germany based) absolutely shocking, i wouldnt buy a flash drive from that outfit never mind a gpu or motherboard. Yet they tout themselves as having good customer service.

ive only had poor service from asus,i like their boards and think the bios's are very slick but it seems once they've sold it you they don't wanna know after:(

no probs with asrock or gigabyte

Asus service has a very poor rep, thankfully i havent had to use it, last boards were, p5q deluxe, p6t deluxe v2, p6 x58 de, and my current z77 v pro. Gpu wise i tend to stick with gigabyte now. My old gtx 470's were overclocking monsters, as is my current 670. Albeit a lot quieter. And theres the peace of mind of a uk based service.
