ok I'm looking to change broadband providers, I'm currently getting my pants pulled down by Pipex paying £24 per month for a 1mb connection (uncapped) :(

Whats the best deals out there baring in mind I dont want to be restricted on downloading by an overbearing ISP + want performance while gaming over the net

cheers

Any Enta reseller.

Enta use an "anti loss tool" during busy times that reduces everyones speed slightly, but ensures that gaming is not affected by packet loss.

I've had no issues with them since jumping from Poopex earlier in the year.

well I wasnt sure where to post you see, thought theres gonna be gamers here who know whats what reagrding the topic, sorry if its the wrong place fellas

I'd avoid Sky and NTL for gaming (find out if you are in an NTL or Blueyonder region if considering VM cable).

Was with Nildram for 4.5 years and they were very good for gaming, especially if playing on european servers due to their routing.

nthell(virgin media) started off great...but the last 2 years had been a joke. it took near 6 months to disconnect from them and this is someone who has been with them 10 years..... so much for loyalty.

tried Zen...nice friendly ppl but the 20gb cap is really limiting.

now with BE/bethere or what ever they call themselves. how does 22mb download/1.3mb upload sound? these are my actual speeds....they give upto 24mb....just for £24

no download cap

speeds seem consistantly very fast

they supply u with a router which also has a wireless connection so if u like browsing forums with a laptop u dont need to mess abt with any wires.

but are they in your area?

btw i could have sworn i was browsing the games forums lol

Good luck, you can have one or the other unless you pay a high price. Multiplay have an awesome gaming service but a 40gb monthly "cap" (you just get a small connection but still have the awesome gaming capability)

Sounds good ! Im Outer South West London area, I'll check them out

I'm with Virgin. 20 meg connection with 768Kb upload, uncapped. Should be £37 per month but after a year just call them up and tell them you are leaving and they will half the price ;)

Get UKOnline, I've been with them for 2 years and they are amazing for gaming and reliability.

They have a 8000/768 package for 19.99 a month (which I have) and a 22000/768 for just 24.99. There is unlimited usage with a "fair usage policy" on their services but they don't actually state how much you're allowed to download, I download a LOT of stuff and they've never alerted me to any download limits.

ahhh they arnt in my area yet, I'm gutted that looked a bargain :(

Do they have your location listed as getting service in the near future? They're well worth it.

I pay £24/month for a 17MB connection. No traffic shapping, no bandwidth limits and I have great pings. Usually 13-20 for UK servers, 20-40 for most of europe and 100-120 for most east coast US servers.

I just emailed them asking as I noticed they cover Camberley which is 2mins away from where I live so I'm even more gutted haha
