I've been offered this build and know that I would need a GPU and hard drive but I was wondering if this is a good start to a build for gaming on games like dota, Garry's mod, Borderlands two and
arma 2.
Also if it is a good start what GPU would you recommend for it and whether my personal build would be better for gaming or not (my build is below)
arma 2.
Here's a list of the computer components, they're a little old but they still perform quite well compared to what you can get nowadays:
- XFX x58i Motherboard (Unfortunately I've had a few problems with this board in terms of trying to get it to overclock, but it runs perfectly fine under normal use)
- i7 920 (1st Generation i7 processor) - Quad Core, with HyperThreading (Allows each core to have 2 threads for a total of 8 "cores", which as far as I know is only available to i7 processors, even with the current generations)
- 2x Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM (Total of 8GB of RAM)
- OCZ 700W Power Supply Unit
- Aerocool AeroEngine-Plus Case
