Which C2D has the lowest multi?

E6300 has lowest of 7

E2140 is 8 i think

But with any CPU you should be able to lower the multi, just not increase it
 
Right, so if I went ahead and bought a E2140, I could run it at 8 multi, but also, 7 or 6.... Nice!

I think I'll plump for a E2140 then :cool:

Yes it think thats right, you just cant increase the multi
 
Why do you want a really low multi :confused:

There a reason behind wanting a huge fsb without necessarily a hugely fast chip (relatively)

Bought some uber ram and trying to justify it? lol

I'm still running an athlon XP-M right now. ;) I plan on getting a good mb and ram tho.

I'll be running the chip under water, so I should be able clock quite well... I don't see the point in spending £100+ on a chip when a £60 one will be almost as fast. I also do lots of audio work, and that really benefits from good mem bandwidth... so it's all good.
