Right, this isnt the usual question of which is better VGA or Component etc but slightly different.

After work im gonna pop into town and get a new cable for my 360, however, I'm not sure what to get. I have a 28" Widescreen CRT currently using a composite cable and a 19" WS monitor. Obviously a VGA cable would be better quality but would I really notice the difference on a screen that small?

Am just thinking for practical purposes is the RGB Scart a big increase over the composite? Or would I only really notice a difference with the VGA albeit a much smaller screen?

Any help appreciated :)

RGB can make the world of difference over the standard composite, but it can also be hard to tell that much of a difference, it will depend totally on the TV.

As for VGA on the monitor, you'll get the best picture quality for sure on the monitor, just you'd have to be sitting a little closer perhaps to enjoy the differences. The actual scale of difference between RBG and VGA is pretty massive, as you're getting 720p / 1080i out of the VGA, but you'll only be getting PAL output from the composite/RGB, giving a poorer resolution.

i was in a simliar situation, get the RGB scart block thingy, i noticed the world of difference, imo it was the same sort of leap from when i moved SD to HD.

also id stick with the CRT tv, id rather have a bigger screen than a smaller HD screen

Right bought the RGB cable as I don't think I could play on a <26" screen especially if mates are around would be just too cramped.

Can notice a definate improvement in sharpness and lack of colour bleeding. Does make me wonder though how good VGA/Component could look :D

Hmm, i'm encountering a small problem at the moment.

Although the image quality is vastly improved everything seems to have shifted to the left? About 1-2 inches. It's not a huge deal but its enough to be irritating. I've tried different widescreen Zoom methods but it always zoom's them from the starting position so still to the left. Anyone have any ideas?

There should be some RGB settings on the TV in the menus somewhere, where you can adjust the position of the screen, though will vary depending on your TV.
