Dad's searching for a new cam, for under £500. He isnt too fussy about what cam it is - the best for that price I guess.

There's nothing in paticular he'd like to photograph.. I imagine he'll be taking it on walks etc.

Sorry I can't really be anymore specific, but thanks in advance if you can help!

He's been looking at the canon 350/400, but doesnt really know a lot about cameras.
He doesnt really have any preference when it comes to make, would just like the best for the money or whichever takes the nicest pictures.

The camera is just a light box, all camera take nice pictures but some have more features than others.

That said, the Canon 400D or the Nikon D70 are very good entry level cameras.

Hehe, ok. Will look into those two! Sorry I dont know a lot and he's nearly 40 and trying out something new.

Thanks for the info

The question is what is he after? something small in the pocket or something he will need a camera bag for to take it out. And does he want to change lenses ?

If he doesn't know much about cameras, and might prefer something other than an DSLR, which really, don't have satisfactory kit lenses (IMO!! ;)) then maybe something like the Canon G7 would be better.
