I'm looking to purchase a DSLR camera to take product photographs for ecommerce. I'm looking at a budget of around £600 and have been looking at a Nikon D5200 with a 60mm Tamron/Nikkor Macro lens.

Is there anything else around this price range? Budget can possibly stretched if there will be a noticeable improvement.

I will be shooting Watches, Jewellery (Including small beads & charm).

Thanks,
Oliver

edit: forgot to mention, I will also be wanting to use the camera for general photography needs as well as the occasional video. Is it usually best to stick with the kit lens for these sorts of things, or is it advisable to get a body-only and source a different one?

Were you looking at new, because even a D5200 body only plus either of those macro lenses is over £700 new at least. With the Nikkor macro, quite a bit more than that too!

In terms of general use, yes the kit lens is probably a fair starting point given the fairly lower extra outlay to get it bundled with the body.
It does obviously depend on what quality you are expecting from it and the actual use, as to whether it would fit the purpose, but there is nothing inherently 'wrong' with kits lenses.

Sigma do a 70mm f2.8 1:1 macro lens which, as well as being very sharp, it has virtually no distortion. The AF is not the quickest but that wouldn't be a consideration for product shots. Price is around the same as the Nikon 60mm macro.

If I'm going out specifically for bugs/flora it's one of the two lenses I take with me (the other being the Canon 300mm F4 L + tubes + 1.4x).
