Getting a new camera. which 1 do you thinks the best..

Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR Camera OR
Canon Powershot G9 Digital Camera

The best? Well the dSLR is the better camera, but it depends on whether you want a dSLR or not really.

What do you want to use it for?

Hi

I want it for taking pictures of my kid and we've another baby on the way so it would be good to get some good pictures. Also, I'm quite interested in getting wildlife and lanscape shots.

I'd be happy sussing out the DSLR but I'm also think of my wife who would just point and shoot.

I might get the Canon for myself and get her a cheap slimline digi that she can put in her handbag.

Well it would seem that you pretty much know what you're after really. Certainly, the 400D is a great camera. If your wife isn't so bothered, then the camera can obviously just be used on fully-automatic too.
