I enjoy my racing games even if I am terrible at them.
Currently playing Automobilista 2. It is fun and is nice visually.

I have a Quest 2 and recently bagged a 3080 ti founders edition. Are there any racing games which have a "wow!" visual factor in VR? Arcade or sim. It doesn't matter too much.

I think you're playing one of the best racing titles for VR out there... The problem with automobilista 2 is thatv there are plenty of bugs and very few people playing it really.

Project cars 2 is said to be a great VR experience as well, although is a more arcade game and I really dislike it as a racing title.

Assetto Corsa has nice visuals and there is plenty of people still playing it, although it is very demanding time wise as you have to look for and install quite a few mods (content manager, sol etc). Also, if you want to enjoy playing online and join organised leagues etc you'll want to register in SRS, WSS... It's got no variable weather and you can't drive at night.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is just amazing in many ways, but it is really poorly optimised for VR gaming, you'll have problems running it no matter what GPU you're using. It is the best racing game (IMO, but definitively can be frustrating in VR).

IRacing would give you the best online experience, but it is terribly expensive and you can tell it's age and you won't have that "Wow" factor you're looking for.

I personally had a "wow factor" when first playing Project Cars 2 on a rift s with my 2080ti so I would assume that on a quest 2 with a 3080ti it would be even more incredible visually. But when I tried it it was one of the earlier games I tried in vr so that may have contributed at the time. Try it out though

Project Cars 2 looks stunning even on low / mid range cards , also notable mention for Dirt Rally 2 which with a few small tweaks looks breath taking , especially this one -

Codemasters screwed up the Ground Clutter preset. The draw distance is very close and can be distracting. Fix:

Navigate to \Users(yourname)\Documents\My games\DiRT Rally 2.0\hardwaresettings

Open hardware_settings_config_vr.xml

Change the Ground Clutter line to this:

<ground_cover clutter="true" enabled="true" lodScaling="0.9" />

I could not believe the difference after I applied this , if you own a copy I urge you to try it out.

:) I have more games than I have sense. A lot of folks seem to mention Iracing but it's a bit too complicated for me to work out how to go about it. I recently got a 3 month membership for an intro price of (I think) aroung £3.50. I'll look more in to it.

TBH I thought I'd see a big jump in quality going from my 3060 to the 3080ti. It's smooth with the 3080ti, yeah but not gobsmacking better visually. Maybe it's just my eyes or my settings (I tend to play at whatever settings are defaulted on install. I got a bit fed up with tweaking this and tweaking that just to find I made it slightly better or sometimes bunches worse).

I really want a f1 game which support vr. That would make me buy one straight away.
+1 on that.

If F1 2021 ends up supporting vr I would buy it in a heartbeat! And Im not even that into F1 haha
Another +1 on that. It's a lot of money to splash out on a game which doesn't offer VR. I can get several legit keys for other VR games for the same as one F1 2021.

Ah, tweaking, hours of fun to be had. I end up screwing up my settings and regretting doing so sometimes. :) I do own Dirt Rally 2. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Regarding the project cars thing, it might be worth it for you to juts check which settings it is running at for you, when I checked mine it had defaulted to low even though I had a 2080ti!! When I bumped them up it looked waaaay better

AMS2: Brands, medium cloud, 11/06, 19.00.

Sat in a CV8 maxed out on a G2, it looks real. Not only the best visual in a racing game, but the most realistic moving image in any VR game.

Just checked the steam page, looks impressive! How's the performance with this kinds of settings?
