Which car would you choose?

Don’t take any heed of the people projecting and giving pointless one or two word answers. They may be upset because not everyone want to drive another boring hatch. If they had any genuinely useful input they should add it. So many don’t like crossovers or SUVs and try to convince everyone else they should hate them as well.

Having driven both types of cars they are both decent mid size crossovers and really simply down to taste. I also owned an X1 and it was a decent mid sized SUV, drove well, well built and well appointed.

I'm literally looking at getting an SUV to replace my current car...

But fair enough if my one word answer should have gone in to more detail.

I would argue one of the main benefits of SUVs is cabin space, height, and better off-road ability (even though most people don't use this)

The two cars the OP asked about are some of the smallest 'SUV' type cars on sale, and the BMW X2 isn't particularly high up either, in fact the driving position is pretty low down.

Plus both the examples are front wheel drive models, so no benefit in wet weather.

They just seen utterly pointless to me. The BMW X1 would be a better buy, as it's bigger all around and higher up. Or if you wanted it for driving dynamics, get a BMW 3 series touring instead.

Yes, much more useful feedback. I agree on the X1 take as well and I had an X1 X-Drive as it was the same dimensions of the X2 but taller and more practical.

Both cars the OP suggested fit the slightly premium smallish crossover profile. So both fit the bill if the OP is not looking at super practicality and just needs a smallish car, with slightly higher up driving position and no AWD.

Thank you. I already have 3 others cars. The size of these are perfect I don't want to big as it would be hard to park. Are these car prices correct or shall I wait for a better deal. I looked at audi suv but they are basic inside.

X2 is pretty small inside and horrific build quality compared to other BMWs. Felt more like a Ford

The build quality thing is not just about the quality of materials, but the solidness as well. So while my X1 was superficially less premium than an X3, the build quality was good and definitely better than on any Ford I had access to (Mach-E for example).

Have you test driven them yet? That's the best way to decide.

They both look like nice cars. I think BMW has a better reputation for customer service than Mercedes, which does not have that good a reputation.
