Which car would you chose?

That would please Dad, he's a biker, but I've said NEVER :p

Off topic, but you dont know what your missing m8.

Back on topic......so what about the V6 3.2 Vectra then?.

I'm hankering after one to trade the Jag in for.

BMW 5 Series get my vote.

Scoobies are for boy racers in my view and would'nt suit you. I dont like the looks of the old style imprezza's tbh. Something about them I just dont like. They maybe fast, it wouldnt still get one. Cant really put my finger on it. 22yr in a scooby, would be just like any other scooby driver. You would be branded a boy racer lol.

The MK2 mondeo, I wouldnt go for as you already have one really and Im sure you would want a change ;) You might love your mondeo to bits, I dont blame you they are good cars but I know you want a change. You dont want to get a new car thats like your old one but a colour change maybe.

The ST220 has pretty good looks in my view but its a Mondeo again. To me it will remind you of your old car when you drive it and is that what you want really? They are good cars, dont get me wrong, my mates mum has one and she loves it. The whole family loves Fords. Got a shed load of them. Sierra Cosworth, Escort Cosworth, Focus ST, Focus RS Cossie and the ST220. If you are wanting a new car then go away from the Mondeo's, it maybe a sad day for you but its time to change...

I would get the BMW for the simple fact, it has very good performance, comfort, good styling and a BMW badge at the end of the bonet. What car would like to be in when you pull to some lights next to a Fiesta with a couple of fine looking women in. The BMW would be the best car by far to be in. 22yr old in a BMW 5 series would be great.

Ive tried to explain my reasons, I would defo get a 5 series.

Oh, btw, ever thought about a nice Audi A4 ?

2002 Ford Mondeo 3.0 V6 ST220 - 222bhp, 0-60 6.9 seconds, £9000-£10000

lol you'll think your good until a Pulsar comes and whips u in a 4k car, and then a crapped out Fiesta RS T nails you, and then a jumped Bora with a 1.8T gives u a hiding also lol.

But is that important? To me it isn't.

Me neither - don't care about that, could buy a Ferrari 360 (couldnt but you know what I mean) only for some oik in a tracksuit to waste me in the Corsa he built :)

Personally I would get the BMW, for some odd reason I have an irrational hatred for Scoobies and no Ive never been wasted by any ;) . But neither would be cheap to run compared to a Mondeo.

I didn't read the entire thread, so my apologies if this has already been suggested. Honda Accord Type R??

It’s a Honda, so it’s well built. It’s what you describe as ideal, in so far as its ‘fast’. Plus it retains that quality that you seem so fond of – the ability to wear your slippers and smoke that pipe of yours whilst driving. ;)

edit: as people are quoting figures for 0-60's et el, and I dont know them for the ATR, all I can say is 220Bhp, 2.2 L and a VTEC :)

Love the Scoob, but that shape is starting to look a bit dated and I can't help but feel it'd perhaps be somewhat wasted on you given the way your attitude towards cars often comes across as more concerned with interior comfort and gadgets than outright 'fun' when behind the wheel.

The BMW is a fine handling car, definitely the classiest of the bunch, will have performance aplenty when you need it, but also has an interior thats a class above the rest and in terms of comfort when driving it'd probably be the best.

The ST220 is an interesting alternative, and I was impressed by Dangerous's one when I went for a spin it once, but its not quite in the same league prestige wise as the BMW for me :)

E39 530i Sport manual, in dark blue, grey or black please....love the Scoob but I'd end up wanting to spend thousands on it to make it look better and go quicker, by which time your budget is maxed and the insurance company would go mental, not to mind the cost of tires and fuel would outstrip those of the Beemer too.

You can always go back to a mental Jap motor later on if you like anyway, can't follow this idea that once you have a cruiser you can't enjoy driving something fast and frantic...

My 2p :)

Go japanese. Scooby. Or even Skyline. Just because it's the right time and right age.

Buying an M5 when you got the money and get a little older is a wise choice. I love M5's. The old style anyday :D

Until I can afford an M5.

So, years.

If that's the case - ST220 imo. Something more up market than a Mk2 atleast. I cant help but think that you'd get more enjoyment/pleasure out of owning an M5 as your first E39 straight from a ST220/watever u pick rather than an 530i/530d.

Don't get a 3 series. They're common as muck these days.

Personally, I'd go for the Scoobie. You're only young once, and you might as well take the exciting option whilst you can still handle it.

Remember - decide at the age of 40 that you want something similar to a Scoobie and people will start accusing you of mid-life crisis-ness. Get it out of your system!

Around here, the only people who own 3 series' are drug dealers and pretentious hairdresser women trying to make out they have more money than they really do. And that accounts for a whole lot of 3 series'...

edit: Bums! You said 5 series...

Errr, they're far too executive for you at the moment. Live a little.

if you dont buy a E39 fox am gona come down there and slap you hard :D

You love it you know u do, yeh sure i may be a in the 5 series club, but am in the process of selling my 5 to get a 530D and will keep going up the range.

Once you have a 5 series fox m8 you wont want to go back, you know it and you always have done.

Stop gettin cold feet and stay off autotrader ! :)

I doubt I'll be able to afford to run and justify an M5 this side of the next decade.
