Hi all,

I would like to know which graphics card would best suit me and which one to get! I have a advent pc with vista home premium, it has quad core and 6gb of ram. i know that the mother board has a pci Express port. i would like some more info on the card. e.g. whats the diffence between GDDR3 and DDR2 and DDR3- does this mean that the motherbard has to have ddr2 to have a ddr2 Graphics card!? my budget is £150, so plz could u put me on the right traks on which ones would suit me, i am looking to play games such as Call of duty, and other high graphical games at around 1680 x 1050 Res.

thankz
Jack :)

no it does not matter if motherboard have ddr2 or ddr3 memory.

if it did mater non of us would be able to use 4870/ 4890 as they use gddr5.

for around 150~160 £ i would take 1 gig 4870. go for 1 gig it will last u longer when more intensive memory games will come out

+1 for the 4870/4890 1Gb models also look at the nvidia GTX260(216 core) that is also a very good card for that price. but i think you must consider what resolution you are gaming at please? a lot of people have said that a 4850 which is under 100£ now is just as good as a 4870:D
