Which card do I upgrade to?

Spec is in sig, currently using a 7850 2GB.

I only recently got the 7850 however I do want to upgrade as best as I can...

If I have a budget of up to £250, what should I go for?

Also, my PSU is a OCZ 550W. Would I need to get a better PSU if I go for a more recent card?

Could just get a decent 750w psu and look for a used 7850 in the mm to xfire

I really don't want to xfire, it's just a dedicated card I'd want.

lots of factors; cpu; what do you game at resolution? Ram? Have you OC your card to see get more power out of it?

What could you sell the 7850 for? Just wondering whether you could push to £300 odd for a 780?
Failing that then keep an eye out for a 280x

280X should be a nice boost if your gaming at 1080p, tbh though if it was me, i'd save the extra or sell the 7850 in the hope that some mining fan would snap it up for a decent price and get yourself a 290.

I can stretch to £300 no problem. What's the best for £300 then? 290?

if you go for a 290 get one with custom fans on, the reference ones are loud and hot!!! custom coolers start at £380
looks like you can get a 280x instead

If you got £300 and a 7850, sell the 7850 for the non ref 290 once they are in stock, voila sorted.

In clearance there is gtx 680 for 239 but u need new psu

A ran my 2500K and a 7950 + water pump and a load of fans on a 550W just fine but I think I was pushing it.

What's the most amount of money you're comfortable spending, and also, have you tried overclocking your 7850? They usually clock very well.

If you are going AMD, I would wait for this mining madness to die down as its really driven up prices.

PSU should be fine for most single GPU's

I would go for a 770 on that budgets, mining has push the prices up on AMD equivalent (280X), but they do have that extra gig of ram which some games will use even at 1080P but 2 gig is fine for the best part today, but i would recommend saving up another £100 and get a 780, or 290 as this will be safer in the long run, 290 run hot and loud tho, 780 cool and quiet but both preform around the same
