Hi (sorry another spec me thread),

My 8800 GTX died a couple of months ago and ive been making do (until the GPU market settles down) with a netbook for what seems like ages now and want to get back on the pc for some gaming! Can someone recommend me a card please to order this week. Here is my PC spec.

OcUK Value L2442WD-VA 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Series
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz
Corsair HX 620W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-

(if any other info required let me know).

I guess this will kind of be an interim card until the DX11 cards are established, so around £150 (tops) budget.

Thanks.

EDIT: My apologies please move to correct forum :p

I previously wondered the same thing, what interim card, and someone else gave me a good piece of advice. I was favouring the ATI cards, when someone suggested going nvidia so even after you have purchased your DX11 card you can keep the nvidia one in as a dedicated physix card.

I have a Nvidia card here for PhysX but l can't be even bother to hook it up. Only game that is apparently good and uses GPU-accelerated PhysX is Batman, which l didn't like :p

Now for £150 you could get a 4890 for now and either wait for Nvidia's new card that is coming in Q1 2010 or wait for the new refreshes later in 2010.

If l were you l would go with the 5770. Would be the best choice if you monitor is 1680*1050 or lower.
