I currently have a Nvidia Geforce FX 5950 Ultra, and could possibly replace that with an ATI Radeon X800 XL. Which card is better? As a percentage how much is one better then the other?

I am trying to run 2 clients of Dark Age of Camelot on my Athlon 2.4 GHz FX-53 PC (2GB RAM), and one client keeps going LD. I know the CPU ought to be fast enough and I have enough RAM so all I can think is my video card sooks :)

TIA.

The X800 should be better than the 5950. Probably about a 20% increase.

Comparing a 9800pro 128mb to an x800gto 128mb (both of which i owned at the same time!) there's a definate improvement!

I think it would be a good upgrade for you! :)

Have a look in clearance section - theres a couple of decent priced card that should be a lot better than what you have now. Spotted a 6600GT for £58 and a 6800GT for £70. Im assuming you want AGP?

Yes, AGP for tehwin.

The only problem is that I am not sure how much of my DAoC client LD issues are down to the video card and how much are down to other things (USB ADSL modem over ethernet ADSL router etc.)

Nvidia Geforce FX 5950 Ultra = Harley Davidson motorbikes.
Loud, slow, expensive and only bought by 50 year old divorced lawyers.
