This one is AMD always used amd but happy to change

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £578.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

This one is Nvidia a little but more money but maybe the better card.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £728.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

i went for the Zotac one because it offers
  • 5 Years Warranty

So £150 between the 2 cards, AMD one offers a free games and Headphones..

thoughts?

Impossible to answer that. All I will say is that it'll serve you well enough for the foreseeable.

I've been running this 1070 for over two years and the adaptive sync monitor for two and a half, I still don't see any need to upgrade. The adaptive sync helps a lot with prolonging the life of a graphics card. The 700 quid I spent on both of those looks like good value now.

will it future proof as like a good 3 years of gaming before i need to upgrade ?

Vega 64 is a good card for 2560x1440 & 3440x1440, especially paired with Freesync. I moved from 1080Ti to Vega 64 two weeks ago, and not having any remorse.
(I have FS monitor)
Until 2021 we wont see much changes in graphics. New consoles are going to hit mainstream 2020, new games fully utilise them 2021.

Also AMD is typical in it's "fine wine" mentality (or joke some might say). Just in general performance the 18.7.1 is faster than 18.6.1 by 5%!!!!
Some games which got optimised 20%. The games I play from 103-107 fps now I have gained 10fps. And that with just turbo mode on the Nitro+ (1600 avg clock speed).

As for the Strix you proposed. Is a great deal, if you want the headphones. But I would strongly consider this one if you do not want the headphones.

Is the better card. But Sapphire Nitro+ is the best of them all, if you can find it for the same price.

Also have a look here

im not at all fussed about the headphones tbh. wouldn't use them. i will check out the card. will be buying tomorrow so need to make a choice quick :D

do overclockers stock the Sapphire Nitro+?

They had some up to a week or so ago. The Red Devil is great card also in par to the Sapphire one (check the video above).
Also the above Nitro on the video is the old one with the 3 8-pins, the new ones have 2 8-pins.
